Generally, there are two kinds of viscosity reducer:
A, oil viscosity reducing agent, the viscosity reducer is mainly in view of heavy oil, so it is known as viscosity reducer for heavy oil, heavy oil as the light component content is low, asphaltene and resin content is higher, so a lot of heavy oil has high viscosity, high viscosity and poor flow properties, the exploitation and transportation brought great inconvenience, so usually before the exploitation of heavy oil heating, or adding heavy oil viscosity reducer. Heavy oil viscosity reducer is mainly divided into two types: water soluble viscosity reducing agent and oil soluble viscosity reducing agent.
1, water soluble viscosity reducing agent
The viscosity reducer, easily soluble in water, formulated as a ratio of injection production wells can reduce the viscosity of heavy oil, by the natural state of oil water into oil in water emulsion, thereby greatly reducing the viscosity of heavy oil, in order to facilitate the extraction and transportation of heavy oil. The viscosity reducer is mainly used in the convenient water area.
2, oil soluble viscosity reducing agent
The thinner the main solvent is thin oil, is to use thin oil soluble viscosity reducer, the solution viscosity reducer dilute oil into heavy oil wells, easy to heavy oil exploitation and transportation, the viscosity reducer is mainly used in oil field water, water shortages due to the oil, it is not possible using water soluble heavy oil viscosity reducer.
In summary, the exploitation of heavy oil can heat tracing, also can be injected chemical viscosity method, due to the heat tracing is not conducive to improve the pump efficiency and the oil well dynamic liquid level, reduce power consumption, decrease the pressure of the system, increase the crude oil production of single well, special sand wells at high salinity, the emulsifier to underground pump with wettability, the pump speed is more coordinated. So the development of small dosage, low cost and viscosity reducing agents can bring considerable economic benefit, efficiency at home and abroad in the study of strong viscosity, showing its objective economic benefit, a lot thinner does not have heat resistance, but in some time, usually to gas injection (high temperature steam injection well, to mining) it can reduce the viscosity, but a lot thinner because they do not have heat resistance, so after steam injection, no resistance to temperature of viscosity reducer will lose effectiveness, so now many research units and institutions are in the research of how the viscosity reducer has heat resistance, with the in-depth study there has been a lot of research unit, a temperature reducer, this technology is gradually mature.

Two, viscosity reducer for drilling fluids

(3) the sulfonated styrene maleic anhydride copolymer of maleic anhydride (two)
